William R. Hritz, M.S.
William (Bill) Hritz has spent over forty-five years working in healthcare financial management. Over those four decades, Bill has worked with hospitals, physician practices, consulting firms and technology companies. His experience ranges from primary care physician practice to multi-hospital academic medical centers. Bill began his career working in management engineering and systems design. He was a pioneer in the application of cost accounting and decision support in the healthcare setting. More recently, he worked as a chief financial officer in the group practice setting, with a particular emphasis on merger & acquisition.
Areas of Expertise
Beginning his career as a management engineer introduced Mr. Hritz to every aspect of hospital operations. He designed and implemented systems to improve staffing, scheduling, communications and workflow. Bill has analyzed and applied productivity improvement techniques to nearly every hospital department. He has managed reduction-in-force projects and has led efforts to integrate facilities post-merger.
Bill used his engineering training in a variety of disciplines, including the management of the systems design team at a large university hospital. He has experience in merger & acquisition representing hospitals as well as physician practices. In the area of financial operations, Bill has served as both controller and chief financial officer. He has implemented and managed cost accounting systems and integrated financial planning/budgeting systems; managed major facilities development and renovation projects; and provided the technical support to hospital financial rating, tax-exempt bond issue. In addition to managing financial operations, he has also served as Compliance Officer and as Safety Officer.
